Sinclair, Inc. is seeking a creative Editor for the Criminally Obsessed Daily Show to produce daily true-crime news and analysis content. This role blends editorial judgment with advanced video editing for digital, social, and broadcast platforms.

You will partner with producers, talent, and the production team to deliver accurate, engaging episodes. The ideal candidate thrives on pacing, visual storytelling, and fast, high-quality output, while managing assets and timelines to maintain brand

Qualifications

• 5+ years hands-on experience in all aspects of video production and postproduction including shooting, lighting, sound recording & editing, and ability to operate and troubleshoot all associated equipment
• Highly skilled across Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere, Premiere Rush, Photoshop, After Effects, etc), and other creative software
• Strong understanding of video editing techniques and storytelling
• Demonstrated experience in motion graphics and creating social media video content
• Strong knowledge of YouTube and its best practices
• Proficiency in designing graphics, including thumbnails and infographics
• An eye for quality content, with an understanding of what plays well across various channels
• This position requires impeccable spelling and grammar, a deep understanding of social media trends and what works on each platform, vertical video editing skills, and the ability to capture well-composed videos on a phone
• Must be highly motivated, extremely organized, and come to the position with a uniquely creative mind
• Flexibility to travel and work nights and/or weekends, as projects call for

Responsibilities

• Participate in content strategy sessions and pitch social-first ideas.
• Research stories and organize editorial, archival, video, audio, and graphics.
• Edit scripts, interviews, A-roll, B-roll into polished Daily Show segments for digital, social, and broadcast platforms.
• Shape pacing, visual storytelling, sound, graphics, and flow for audience retention.
• Create motion graphics, lower thirds, thumbnails, captions, and branded assets.
• Review recordings; fix video, audio, lighting, framing issues.
• Ensure content is accurate, attributed, visually consistent, and compliant.
• Deliver clean first cuts and meet deadlines for final episodes, time codes, uploads.
• Maintain organized project files; support sponsored content.
• Collaborate with producers, talent; communicate opportunities and timing.
• Work a flexible schedule; occasional nights, weekends; travel 10–20%.
