Patch is seeking a qualified candidate in the region to help break local news to our readers in the towns of Walnut Creek, Lamorinda (Lafayette, Moraga, and Orinda), Healdsburg, Petaluma, Napa Valley, and Concord. Covering community news is more than just a job for you; it's a calling. You thrive on breaking down what’s happening at City Hall, main street businesses, and other community stories.

Your responsibilities include:

1. Developing content for four to seven local news websites, ensuring coverage of important events, stories, and issues within your communities.
2. Identifying and cultivating sources within your communities to gather news and information effectively.
3. Monitoring for breaking news and reporting on urgent events as they happen.
4. Promoting content through social media platforms.

Qualifications include:

1. Strong writing and reporting skills.
2. Proficiency in social media platforms and understanding of SEO principles to promote content and maximize audience engagement.
3. An innate curiosity about local news and a passion for storytelling.
4. Bachelor’s degree in journalism or a related field.
