Job summary

Penguin Random House LLC in New York is seeking an experienced Editor to join BOOM! Studios. The Editor will own creative development, production schedules, and collaborate across marketing, sales, and design to bring comic & graphic novel projects to market.

The role demands strong writing, sharp editorial judgment, and a proactive, team‑oriented approach to manage multiple titles end‑to‑end. This is a remote/NY position with full benefits.

Qualifications

• Minimum five years’ experience editing comic books & graphic novels.
• Excellent proofreading and attention to detail.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively and meet deadlines.
• Team player with cross-department collaboration.
• Strategic thinker with market awareness.

Responsibilities

• Acquire, develop, and produce new and existing BOOM! titles and contribute to commercial creative execution.
• Project management for scheduling, communication, admin, and production.
• Support Executive Editor with scheduling, talent relations, and internal tracking.
• Negotiate contracts for new projects.
• Identify and contract new talent; retain high performers.
• Collaborate on go-to-market strategies and sales-marketing opportunities.
• Work with production design on branding and packaging.
• Provide and enforce deadlines for editorial production.
• Support sales, marketing, and metadata teams with assets.
• Manage creator and licensor approvals on assets.
• Distribute updates, reports, and presentations regularly.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
