Penguin Random House is seeking an experienced Editor for BOOM! Studios to lead the creative process from inception to publication.

Reporting to an Executive Editor, the role entails acquiring projects, managing schedules, and coordinating with production design, marketing, and sales to ensure on-time delivery of high-quality graphic novels and comics. • Five years’ experience in comic book & graphic novel editing.
• Exceptional attention to detail and proofreading skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Acquire and develop new projects; contribute to commercial creative execution of the BOOM! Studios List.
• Project manager for scheduling, communication, administration, and creative development for all titles.
• Support Executive Editor’s office with scheduling, talent relations, and internal tracking.
• Negotiate contracts for new projects.
• Identify and contract new talent; retain high performers.
• Collaborate on go-to-market strategies; lead development meetings.
• Coordinate with production design on branding and packaging; enforce deadlines.
• Support sales, marketing and metadata teams with assets and metadata.
• Manage creator and licensor approvals; distribute regular updates and reports.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
