Apartment Therapy was originally launched in 2001 by interior designer Maxwell Ryan (nicknamed “The Apartment Therapist”) as a weekly newsletter for clients. We officially became an independently-owned company in 2004, and since then Apartment Therapy Media has grown to become the only media group dedicated to life at home. We are committed to teaching our audience real-life solutions by giving them tools to create happy, healthy homes through our award-winning brands: Apartment Therapy, The Kitchn, Cubby, and Dorm Therapy. Apartment Therapy Media is looking for a skilled Editor, Cleaning & Organizing to join our dynamic Lifestyle team. This role will report to the Lifestyle Director and is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the cleaning and organizing sections of Apartment Therapy, including (but not limited to) writing, assigning, and editing daily content.
Our team is seeking an individual who has a proven passion for cleaning and organizing. This includes being tuned into the social and cultural trends as well as the stories, issues, and ideas that represent the myriad ways our readers keep their spaces clean and organized.
The ideal candidate should have a strong editorial background and be nimble, flexible, and able to adapt in an ever-changing digital environment. A deep understanding of traffic patterns, ability to ideate on new story formats, and knack for spotting emerging trends and themes are musts. They should be comfortable running the cleaning and organizing verticals that include well-sourced, reported stories and quick-turnaround trend assignments.
The Editor, Cleaning & Organizing will also assist the Lifestyle Director on running larger franchises and tentpole programs and collaborate closely with the Lifestyle team and other Apartment Therapy editors, as well as the SEO and growth teams. This is a hybrid role based in the New York City area and will require a minimum of two days a week in our SoHo office.

Salary: $70,000 - 75,000 annually
The above represents the expected salary range for this role. Ultimately, compensation is determined by level of experience, location, and other job-related factors.
