Job description

A pre-engineered metal building looks easy from the road. Four metal walls, a metal roof, a door. Basically a big metal box. How hard could it be, right?

If you knew the answer was that a PEMB has thousands of engineered parts that have to be priced right, ordered right, and sequenced right - and that's all before they are handed off to an erector who needs to know how to put it up right...EDiS Building Systems (EBS) is on the search for a Project Manager specializing in Pre-Engineered Metal Buildings. The job? Overseeing the total pre-engineered construction effort so that each project is built to design, budget, schedule, and quality standards - from award through closeout.

YOUR PRIORITIES WILL BE:
Project Management:

It is the job title after all. Own assigned PEMB projects from award through closeout - design, scope, budget, schedule, and quality.

PEMB Expertise:

Serve as the division's pre-engineered “Master Builder,” and lend that knowledge to other project teams when their work includes a Butler portion. Be the go-between for connecting Butler and project teams.

Financial Performance:

Protect Client and Company interests by managing budgets, buyout, change orders, and billing, and keeping your projects profitable.

Coordination & Delivery:

Keep vendors, subcontractors, and Butler manufacturing aligned so materials and building systems are delivered and erected on schedule.

Client Relationships:

Build the client, contractor, and design-team relationships that drive repeat business, and represent EBS well through closeout and warranty.

DAY TO DAY YOU WILL
Oversee Projects:
  • Own assigned PEMB (Butler) projects from award through closeout.
  • Learn each project's design, budget, schedule, anchor bolt layout, and scope requirements inside and out.
  • Visit project sites routinely (no really the anchor bolts)
Scope Development & Buyout
  • Build and manage scopes of work that match the material in pricing, coordinating with the EDiS PM to close any gaps.
  • Review, negotiate, and buy out vendor and subcontractor scopes to match EBS's material supply.
Scheduling & Material Coordination
  • Develop and update project schedules with EDiS field and office staff to keep delivery and erection on time.
  • Coordinate delivery and logistics of Butler materials among vendors, manufacturers, and sites.
Financial Management
  • Manage budgets, purchase orders, change orders, and invoicing to protect Company and Division interests.
  • Track costs and profitability, report variances, and recommend corrective action.
Documentation & Reporting
  • Process submittals, RFIs, shop drawings, and other documentation accurately and on time.
  • Keep project files complete and current.
  • Prepare and submit progress, financial, and sales reports.
Client Relationships & Business Development
  • Build client, contractor, and design-team relationships that drive repeat business.
  • Handle warranty claims with a clear assessment and a prompt, professional response.
  • Support the Division Manager in pursuing new EBS business.
  • Stay current on new products and techniques in the pre-engineered industry.

  • Experience working with trade contracts, insurance requirements, and bidding/proposal preparation
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction plans, specs, and procedures manuals specific to PEMBs
  • Working knowledge of Pre-engineered metal building components, design details, schedules, and proper erection techniques
