Job summary

Buchanan Hauling & Rigging, Inc. is seeking an EDI Developer to enhance data connections, ensure accurate data exchange, and support EDI templates for customers and partners in a fast-paced, logistics environment.

You will work closely with IT and operations to troubleshoot issues, implement mappings, and validate data using SQL, helping keep our transportation processes efficient and reliable.

Qualifications

Job description

Buchanan Hauling is hiring an EDI Developer to help keep our technology connected, our data accurate, and our operations running smoothly.

In the transportation industry, accurate and reliable data exchange is essential. When systems don't communicate correctly, it can create delays, errors, and unnecessary challenges for our customers and internal teams. We're looking for someone who enjoys solving those problems and finding ways to make our processes better.

As our EDI Developer, you'll report directly to the Director of IT and play an important role in building, maintaining, and improving the electronic data connections between Buchanan, our customers, and business partners.

You'll work closely with internal departments and external partners to develop EDI templates, troubleshoot transaction issues, and use SQL to ensure information is flowing accurately and efficiently.

Have hands-on experience with EDI transactions, mapping, and SQL

What you'll own:

Building, updating, and maintaining EDI templates based on customer specifications

Establishing and supporting EDI connections with customers and business partners

Troubleshooting EDI errors, identifying root causes, and preventing recurring issues

Using SQL to validate data and ensure accurate EDI configurations

Testing EDI transactions to ensure information is transmitted correctly

Maintaining documentation for EDI setups, mapping changes, and issue resolution

Identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce errors, and streamline processes

What we’re looking for:

EDI and SQL experience required

2+ years of relevant work experience preferred

Experience with McLeod or another Transportation Management System (TMS) preferred

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent hands-on experience

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

Excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills

Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
