Job summary

CVS Health is seeking a Senior Security Engineer to design, implement, and optimize security controls protecting enterprise web apps, APIs, and edge services. The role focuses on Akamai security technologies, WAF, bot protection, DDoS mitigation, and certificate management.

You will collaborate with application, cloud, infrastructure, network, and security teams, participate in on-call rotations, and contribute to CI/CD security integration and documentation.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in enterprise web app, API, or edge security.
• 3+ years with Akamai security technologies or comparable WAF/security platforms.
• 3+ years working knowledge: WAF, bot protection, DDoS, web/API security, DNS/traffic mgmt, SSL/TLS & cert mgmt, OWASP Top 10, Linux environments.
• 2+ years analyzing telemetry, identifying attack patterns, troubleshooting complex issues.

Responsibilities

• Administer and optimize Akamai security technologies (WAF, Bot Manager Premier, Adaptive Security Engine).
• Configure and tune WAF protections, rate limiting, IP controls, API protection, and security rules.
• Investigate, mitigate, and respond to DDoS, credential stuffing, account takeover, and other threats.
• Monitor security telemetry (Splunk, Grafana) and respond to incidents; perform root cause analysis.
