Job summary

CHANDLER UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT in Gilbert, AZ is seeking a Paraeducator for Special Education - Emotional/Behavioral Disabilities (EDGE). You will support students under the supervision of a licensed teacher, assisting with academic, social, and behavioral goals as outlined in IEPs.

The position is full-time with a 1802PT or 1902FT calendar, starting at $19.01 per hour, with paid holidays and benefits including retirement, health and life insurance, PTO, wellness, and professional growth

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent plus an associate's degree or 60 semester hours from an accredited university, or satisfactory results on an AZ state-approved competency exam.
• CPR/First Aid certification provided.
• Ability to operate standard office equipment, including a computer and related software.
• Satisfactory criminal background check.

Responsibilities

• Reinforce material by providing one-on-one or small-group instruction to students.
• Assist with academic, physical, and emotional needs, following each student's IEP guidelines.
• Provide support with activities of daily living and basic first aid as needed.
• Translate between parents, students, and staff when necessary.
• Assist with assessments and data collection under supervision.
• Participate in meetings and training to enhance knowledge and skills.
• Translate for students, parents, and staff when required.
