Job summary

State of Louisiana is seeking an IT statewide engineer to lead edge network initiatives within the Office of Technology Services. You will drive SDN-based design, deploy enterprise Wi‑Fi, manage access controls, and mentor junior staff across regional locations.

Ideal candidates have a solid IT background with SDN and networking expertise, plus the ability to coordinate across agencies and vendors to deliver reliable statewide services.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology or related field with relevant experience.
  • Multiple years of IT/network experience in a state or large enterprise environment.
  • Experience with SDN, network security, and edge networking preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Implement and support Layer 2/3 networking with SDN emphasis.
  • Deploy and maintain SDN platforms enabling centralized control and policy enforcement.
  • Configure and manage RBAC networks and secure access controls.
  • Install and support enterprise Wi-Fi across agency locations.
  • Mentor junior engineers on diagnostics and standards.
  • Document projects, communicate with stakeholders, and track progress.
  • Respond to incidents and coordinate cross-team resolutions.
