Job summary

South Dakota State Government's Bureau of Information and Technology seeks a Network Administrator to configure, install, and maintain edge devices (routers, switches, firewalls, APs) across statewide sites. Travel may be required; hybrid work up to 2 days/week, not fully remote.

Ideal candidate has 2‑year degree preferred, strong IPv4 routing, VLANs, VPNs, and familiarity with ServiceNow and network tools. State employment benefits include health, retirement, and leave provisions.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a 2 year degree from a university or technical school is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Configure, install, and maintain edge network devices (routers, switches, firewalls, wireless APs) for the State of South Dakota.
• Overnight travel up to SD locations to diagnose problems, install hardware, and meet with clients.
• Lead meetings, trainings, presentations, and site visits with school districts.
