Job summary

Samsara is offering a 12-week Summer 2026 internship across multiple engineering specializations, including Backend Infrastructure, Full-stack, Frontend, Mobile, and Embedded Software. Interns will contribute to real-world IoT projects and work with cross-functional teams.

Interns can be remote or hybrid, with 3 days per week in the San Francisco, CA office and 2 days remote. Compensation is hourly and relocation assistance is available for in-person roles.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS/Math/SE/Physics/Data Science (Spring/Summer/Fall2027 or Winter2028)
• Internship can be remote or hybrid (3 days per week in San Francisco, CA office and 2 days remotely)

• Strong technical foundation in computer science fundamentals, data structures, and algorithms

Responsibilities

• Own and deliver high-impact projects from day one, performing design, implementation and testing.
• Work on scalable backend infrastructure, user interfaces or embedded software as required.
• Collaborate with experienced engineers to produce high-quality, maintainable solutions across the IoT ecosystem.

Engineering Specializations

• Backend Infrastructure – design and develop the core infrastructure that powers our IoT platform, scaling data ingestion and storage for tens of thousands of customers.
• Full‑stack, Frontend – create user interfaces that transform data from millions of devices into intuitive insights, collaborating with design and product teams.
• Full‑stack, Backend – design and develop features across the platform, tackling data architecture and performance engineering for web and mobile.
• Mobile Infrastructure – support the React Native application, writing maintainable, high‑performance code for a seamless mobile experience.
• Embedded Software – develop on‑device software for Samsara’s hardware products, including edge AI models, power management and real‑time data processing.

Minimum Requirements

• Complete a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Software Engineering, Physics or Data Science between Spring/Summer/Fall2027 or Winter2028.
• Internship can be remote or hybrid (3 days per week in SanFrancisco, CA office and 2 days remotely).
• Relocation assistance provided for in‑person roles.
• Strong technical foundation in computer science fundamentals, data structures, and algorithms.

Ideal Candidate

Compensation

Hourly base salary: $31.18–$52.40USD
