Job summary

Targan is seeking a Software Engineer to join the Edge team on a backend-focused role. You will design, build, and operate the edge-to-cloud pipeline that ingests high-rate sensor data from IoT devices on the production floor and forwards it to the cloud with intermittent connectivity.

You will own features end-to-end, work with Controls, HMI, Manufacturing, and Field Support, and contribute to reliable, production-grade systems for our customers.

Qualifications

• 3+ years shipping production software in backend systems.
• Experience with distributed backends in IoT/edge environments.
• Cross-functional collaboration with hardware or controls teams.
• Strong database design, indexing, migrations and SQL proficiency.
• Experience with containerized services and CI/CD pipelines.
• Ability to translate requirements into testable work.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement backend services in C# on .NET Core REST APIs and workers.
• Own data pipeline from device ingest to cloud archive and storage.
• Build and maintain containerized services and deployment manifests.
• Integrate with industrial controllers and fieldbus protocols.
• Deliver features end-to-end with tests, CI, and field validation.
• Contribute to architecture and code quality through reviews.
• Mentor junior engineers and collaborate with multiple teams.
