Job summary

NAM Info Inc is seeking an experienced Fleet Engineer / IoT Engineer to manage Linux-based edge device fleets and containerized apps in a 100% onsite role in the Minneapolis, MN area. You will lead provisioning, onboarding, and lifecycle management of edge devices, configure BalenaCloud fleets, and ensure secure, scalable deployments across distributed environments.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with BalenaCloud, balenaCLI, or Metropolis.
• Exposure to Docker and Docker Compose for containerization.
• Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI/CD, GitHub Actions, or Jenkins).
• Strong Linux administration skills (Ubuntu, Debian, Raspberry Pi OS).
• Container image building, optimization, and deployment experience.
• Bash/Shell scripting proficiency.
• Python for automation, deployment, monitoring, and tooling.
• Remote diagnostics and log analysis expertise.
• Network configuration and security for remote edge devices.
• Git and version-control best practices.
• API integration and automation scripting.

Responsibilities

• Lead provisioning, configuration, onboarding, and lifecycle management of Linux-based edge devices.
• Manage BalenaCloud fleets and fleet-wide deployments.
• Oversee device registration, software updates, maintenance, and decommissioning.
• Deploy and monitor containerized applications across distributed edge fleets.
• Configure environment variables, device settings, and application releases.
• Plan and execute OTA software/firmware updates with minimal disruption.
• Troubleshoot devices remotely and perform diagnostics and log analysis.
• Build, optimize, and deploy container images with Docker/Docker Compose.
• Establish CI/CD pipelines using GitLab CI/CD, GitHub Actions, or Jenkins.
• Develop automation with Python and Bash; manage code with Git.
• Perform Linux administration across Ubuntu, Debian, Raspberry Pi OS.
• Configure network connectivity and security for remote devices.
• Integrate edge apps with APIs and enterprise systems.
• Support secure communication between edge devices and backend/cloud.
