Job summary

Meta seeks a Network Operations Engineer for the Edge and Network Services Foundation NetOps team in DeKalb, IL. You will apply hyperscale data center cabling, fiber connectivity, and IP networking to support field repair services and scale operations.

You will collaborate with internal teams and vendors to deliver reliable network services, drive improvements, and align roadmaps with business needs, while travel up to 25% as required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field or equivalent practical experience
• 4+ years operating, deploying, and designing large-scale network infrastructure
• 4+ years of network operations experience supporting large-scale data center or enterprise networks
• Hands-on experience with optical/network equipment and test gear
• Strong communication with vendors and service providers, translating performance issues into requirements
• Experience troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and cross-functional projects
• Ability to guide external vendors and direct repair actions
• Knowledge of Network Services topology, traffic analysis, and architectures
• Familiarity with Cisco, Juniper routers/switches, and Nexus platforms
• Understanding of data center design: cabling, fiber optics, power/cooling

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and vendors to investigate complex incidents
• Identify security and business continuity issues and implement changes
• Drive operational efficiency by improving policies and processes
• Partner with internal customers to address needs and influence future network designs
• Lead cross-functional projects and define roadmaps and metrics
• Design and implement processes to manage data and asset protection risks
• Ensure documentation is up-to-date and data in systems is accurate
• Identify and implement automation opportunities to reduce Tier-1 faults
• Measure escalation issues, fault trends, capacity, and vendor performance
• Communicate goals, progress, and lessons learned across scope
• Travel up to 25% domestically and internationally
