Job summary

Koam Engineering Systems, Inc. (KES Inc.) is seeking a Software Infrastructure Engineer to support edge compute, on‑prem infrastructure, and Kubernetes/automation in a DoD test environment.

The role emphasizes hands-on implementation, platform operations, and long‑term sustainment of edge and lab infrastructure. The candidate will stand up hypervisors, storage, and container platforms, with Linux administration and GPU-enabled system support.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in related field (CS/CE/IS).
• Security+ (DoD IAT Level II) or ability to meet within 3 months.
• U.S. citizenship with DoD clearance eligibility at Secret level required.

Responsibilities

• Build, configure, and troubleshoot edge compute and on-prem infrastructure for DoD labs/tests.
• Stand up hypervisor, VM, networking, and storage environments with proper resource allocation.
• Deploy Kubernetes/container platforms (Docker/Podman/OpenShift) to support services.
• Install/configure Linux OS, services, drivers, runtimes.
• Support GPU-enabled infrastructure, drivers, container integration, and workload placement.
• Develop automation/config-management for repeatable deployment and sustainment.
• Integrate software infra with IP addressing, VLANs, routing, and firewall paths.
• Troubleshoot across hardware, hypervisors, storage, Linux, containers, networking, and automation.
• Maintain technical documentation for configurations and procedures.
