HP is offering a 12-week paid summer internship for an AI Applied Engineering Intern in the United States. The role focuses on improving AI inference for edge devices, balancing software engineering with machine learning, and evaluating AI workflows on resource-constrained hardware.

You will work with Codex, Copilot, and Claude while collaborating with engineering and strategy teams. Eligible students gain practical, real-world experience and exposure to HP’s AI ecosystem.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in a technical field.
• Must have ≤24 months of related work experience.
• Eligible to work in the United States in 2027 without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Optimize AI inference workflows for edge-device environments.
• Analyze latency, memory usage, and model performance.
• Identify bottlenecks within agentic AI architectures.
• Develop and test software prototypes and optimization approaches.
• Support integration of AI models with edge hardware.
• Document findings, designs, and performance recommendations.
• Collaborate with software, hardware, AI and strategy teams.
• Use AI development tools to accelerate coding, testing, and debugging.
