HP IQ is seeking a Software Engineering Intern for the AIML Platform in San Francisco to contribute to an end-to-end AI/ML platform. You will explore model inference optimization, orchestration, and fine-tuning within a collaborative, cross-functional team focused on on-device AI for next-generation devices.

The internship offers hands-on experience with state-of-the-art AI tooling, exposure to open-source and internal libraries, and mentorship from experienced engineers; May/June–Aug/Sept 2027

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; equivalent practical experience accepted.
• Some coursework or project experience in machine learning, systems engineering, or software development expected.
• Strong ability to communicate technical goals, outcomes, and decisions clearly.

Responsabilités

• Work on model hosting and inference optimization, profiling, benchmarking, and accelerating model execution on resource-constrained devices.
• Contribute to orchestration frameworks and agent workflows using LangGraph or LangChain; design robust, scalable orchestrations.
• Participate in model customization and fine-tuning of pre-trained language models for target tasks.
• Collaborate with system software, design, and product teams to integrate work into the broader platform and communicate progress.
• Contribute to open-source projects or internal libraries related to inference, orchestration, or model training; demonstrate ownership of end-to-end outcomes.
