Job summary

OpenAI is seeking an Infrastructure Software Engineer to build and scale the infrastructure and developer workflows powering silicon development. You will partner with hardware teams to automate workflows, scale regression systems, and own cloud and HPC platforms.

This highly collaborative role emphasizes reliability, efficiency, and end-to-end ownership across design verification, physical design, emulation, and software.

Qualifications

• Strong software engineering fundamentals with Python or similar language and automation experience.
• Deep expertise in at least one infrastructure domain (Linux/HPC, cloud, CI/CD, storage, networking, or EDA workflows).
• Experience designing, deploying, and operating cloud infrastructure, preferably Azure, with IaC tools and scripting.

Responsibilities

• Build developer tools and workflows with hardware teams to automate workflows and boost productivity.
• Develop and scale regression infrastructure with job scheduling, execution, results collection, triage, and reporting.
• Own CI/CD infrastructure for infrastructure, tooling, and cluster configurations.
• Scale cloud and HPC environments, optimize scheduling, capacity, and cost efficiency.
• Build data infrastructure and observability to monitor regression results and health metrics.
• Improve platform reliability and operational excellence with proactive monitoring and automation.
• Collaborate across RTL, verification, physical design, emulation, and software teams to improve infrastructure.
