Job summary

Mercyhealth is seeking a highly organized Unit Clerk to manage medical records, orders, and patient communications in a fast-paced healthcare setting. The role supports multiple units, processes charges, and ensures smooth patient flow with accuracy and confidentiality.

The position requires CPR/BLS certification within 90 days, completion of a Unit Clerk course or equivalent, and strong attention to detail. 2,12-hour shifts per week with varied shifts available.

Qualifications

• Completion of Unit clerk course or equivalent on the job training.
• Approved CPR or BLS certification within 90 days.
• Experience in medical records management and patient communication.

Responsibilities

• Processes orders in an accurate and timely manner.
• Answers the telephone and call lights appropriately and relays messages.
• Directs visitors to the room of the patient.
• Maintains medical records of current patients.
• Processes patient charges and orders supplies as needed.
• Floats to various units based on identified need.
• Participates in department performance improvement activities.
