Job summary

AdventHealth in Tampa, FL is seeking a Cardiac Technician to assist with ECG testing, stress tests, and telemetry. The role includes training staff, handling patient data, and coordinating with physicians for ECG interpretations.

Responsibilities cover performing ECGs, stress tests, nuclear tests, reporting results, and maintaining ECG equipment. Requires HS diploma, BLS, 2+ ECG experience, and ability to work with minimal supervision.

Qualifications

• 2+ cardiac telemetry or ECG experience including stress testing.
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• BLS certification required.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively.
• Stress testing experience (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Assist in training and orientation of new staff and students.
• Participate in performance improvement programs to enhance service quality.
• Respond to phone inquiries and fax requests related to cardiac testing.
• Assist with office tasks such as physician billing and verifying patient information.
• Perform and document electrocardiograms, exercise and pharmacological stress tests, nuclear stress tests, and stress echocardiograms.
• Conduct 24-48 hour hook-ups and scans for cardiac monitoring.
• Execute remote pacemaker testing and communicate abnormal findings to nurses or physicians.
• Maintain supplies for cardiac testing procedures.
• Monitor ECG worklist and schedule cardiologist interpretations.
• Clean and maintain equipment after each use and at shift end.
• Provide accurate documentation and reporting of procedures as per policy.

Job Description

Assists in the training and orientation of new staff and students as required. Participates in performance improvement programs to enhance service quality. Maintains and manages supplies necessary for cardiac testing procedures. Monitors ECG worklist, ensures cardiologist assignment for ECG interpretation, and notifies physicians on panel reading schedules. Cleans and maintains equipment after each use and at the end of shifts. Provides accurate and timely documentation and reporting of all procedures in accordance with department policy.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Demonstrate proficiency in obtaining/evaluating a technically acceptable ECG [Required]
• Basic Computer skills [Required]
• Must be able to function independently with little or no supervision [Required]
• Must be able to read, write legibly and must be able to communicate effectively [Required]
• Stress testing experience [Preferred]

Pay Range
