Position Summary

Sovah Health in Danville, VA, is seeking a full-time ED Technician-Night Secretary, under the supervision of an RN, to perform basic patient care activities including monitoring vital signs, assisting with personal care, and maintaining a clean and stocked environment.

Minimum Education

• High school graduate or GED

Required Skills

• Critical thinking, decisive judgment, ability to work with minimal supervision
• Ability to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action
• Ability to read, write legibly, and follow directions accurately
• Good organizational and communication skills
• Ability to respond quickly and calmly during emergencies

Certifications/Licenses

• AHA Basic Life Support (BLS)
• Current EMT certification from Virginia or North Carolina, or active, unrestricted CNA certification by the Virginia Board of Nursing

Work Experience

• Experience as an ED Tech, EMT, or CNA in an Emergency Department preferred; one year as a Clinical Associate at DRMC is a plus
