Job summary

Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo, MI seeks an Emergency Department Technician (EDT) to join a fast-paced, high-energy emergency department. You will support nurses, perform phlebotomy, EKGs, and point-of-care testing, and help prepare rooms for emergency procedures.

Shift options include full-time, part-time, and PRN with orientation and training provided. You’ll work with a multidisciplinary trauma team in Southwest Michigan’s only Level I Trauma Center, gaining experience across trauma

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• BLS certification required by end of orientation and maintained.
• Preferred: CNA certification and EMS/military/hospital patient care experience.
• Successful completion of EMT program and basic medical terminology knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Assist nurses and providers with patient care and department operations.
• Obtain and document vital signs and other clinical observations.
• Perform phlebotomy on pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients.
• Perform 12-lead EKGs and assist with cardiac monitoring and telemetry.
• Document patient care activities in the EMR and keep environment safe and stocked.
