Job summary

Loyola is seeking a skilled Certified Nurse Assistant or Emergency Medical Technician to join the Emergency Department on the 12 Hour Evening Shift (FT 11a-11p). You will assist nurses and physicians with patient care under supervision.

Required: current CPR; ACLS within 6 months; High School diploma; one year ED experience preferred; good computer/data entry skills; strong communication abilities with patients and staff.

• Effective communication skills both written and verbal with patients, families, and hospital staff.
• Prior experience with a computer including data entry.

Description:

FT 11a-11p

Reporting to the Nurse Manager and under the general supervision of a Charge Nurse assists both nurses and physicians with patients in the Emergency Department by performing both basic and complex patient care procedures

Current certification as a Certified Nurse Assistant OR an Emergency Medical Technician - either Ambulance, Intermediate or Paramedic preferred.

One (1) year of previous experience in an Emergency Department setting preferred.

Completion of a High School Diploma or its' equivalent.

Current CPR certification at time of hire.

ACLS certification (Advance Cardiac Life Support) at time of hire or within six (6) months of hire.

Completion of a Basic Arrhythmia Class at time of hire or within six (6) months of hire.

Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within six (6) months to one (1) year of hire.

Effective communication skills both written and verbal in order to communicate with patients and their families as well as all levels of hospital staff.

Prior experience with a computer including data entry.

Compensation:

Salary Range: $17.30 - $26.81 per hour

Actual compensation will fall within the range but may vary based on factors such as experience, qualifications, education, location, licensure, certification requirements, and comparisons to colleagues in similar roles.
