Job summary

UofL Health is seeking an Emergency Department Tech/Unit Coordinator to support nursing staff in Shepherdsville, KY. You will perform patient intake, vital signs, venipuncture, EKG lead placement, phlebotomy, transport, and clerical duties under RN supervision.

You’ll organize equipment, assist with procedures, document care, and help ensure safety and patient comfort in fast-paced conditions.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Completion of Clinical Assistant, Medical Assistant or EMT training program.
• BLS certification preferred/required.

Responsibilities

• Measures and documents intake, vital signs, height and weight.
• Transports patients and lab specimens as needed.
• Performs venipuncture and labels specimens for the lab.
• Assists RN/MD with procedures and setup.
• Operates and maintains equipment per policy.
