Mountain Valley Community School is seeking a dedicated, student-centered Educational Technician III to join our Title I team. This position provides targeted reading intervention and instructional support to elementary students in grades K–5 who require additional assistance in developing foundational literacy skills.
The successful candidate will work collaboratively with classroom teachers, interventionists, and administrators to deliver evidence-based reading instruction, monitor student progress, and foster a positive learning environment that promotes academic growth and confidence.
Qualifications
- ? Valid Maine Educational Technician III Authorization (or eligibility for certification).
- ? Experience working with elementary-aged students is preferred.
- ? Strong knowledge of early literacy development and evidence-based reading practices.
- ? Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
- ? Demonstrated ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
- ? Current Criminal History Record Check (CHRC) authorization.
Responsibilities
- ? Provide small-group and individual reading intervention under the direction of certified instructional staff.
- ? Implement evidence-based literacy interventions designed to improve phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension.
- ? Support classroom instruction through pre-planned lessons and instructional activities consistent with the responsibilities of an Educational Technician III.
- ? Monitor and document student progress and communicate results with teachers and intervention staff.
- ? Assist with student assessments and data collection.
- ? Prepare instructional materials and maintain accurate records.
- ? Foster a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
- ? Participate in professional learning and collaborative planning meetings.
- ? Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal or designee.
