Job summary

UofL Health is seeking an Emergency Department Tech to provide clinical patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse. The role includes phlebotomy, EKG lead placement, trauma and respiratory support, and clerical duties across multiple systems.

Responsibilities include admissions/discharges, patient transport, and maintaining infection control through equipment cleaning and room readiness. Strong communication and teamwork are essential for fast-paced ED performance.

Qualifications

• Clinical patient care under RN direction.
• Phlebotomy and EKG lead placement.
• Trauma care and respiratory support as needed.
• Documentation in hospital systems; admission/discharge tasks.

Responsibilities

• Respond to lifesaving situations promptly.
• Take vital signs, intake/output, heights, weights.
• Assist with admissions, transfers, discharges; transport specimens.
• Set up and disinfect equipment; ensure room readiness.
• Perform venipuncture and 12-lead ECG under RN direction.
• Assist physicians with procedures and sterile fields.
