Job summary

Biddeford School Department is seeking a Special Education - Education Technician to support students with developmental delays and assist classroom teachers, with family-friendly schedules (full-time and part-time), and the chance to contribute to a caring, collaborative team.

CERTIFICATION: Maine Education Ed Tech certification; CHRC fingerprinting. DAILY RATE: $125 per day. Join a community-focused district in Biddeford, Maine.

Qualifications

• Certification as an Education Technician from the Maine Department of Education.
• Criminal History Record Check (CHRC), which includes Fingerprints on file with the Maine Department of Education
• Appropriate for Ed Technician Certification Level ( 022)
• Experience working with students with Developmental Delays.

Responsibilities

• Review and reinforce learning previously introduced by the classroom or special education teacher, and assist in drill and practice activities.
• Participate in required workshops at the request of the Building Leader, Supervisor, or Director.
• Perform non-instructional, non-evaluating functions, including suspension of students.
• Assist in the preparation of instructional materials or provide classroom management functions during emergency drills, assemblies, play periods, etc.
• Alerts the teacher to any problem or special information about an individual student.
