Job summary

Biddeford School Department is seeking a Special Education Education Technician to support students with developmental delays. The role focuses on reinforcing classroom learning, assisting with drills and practice, and providing classroom management during routine activities.

Candidates must hold Education Technician Certification from the Maine Department of Education, be fingerprinted, and have experience with students with developmental delays.

Qualifications

• Certification as an Education Technician from the Maine Department of Education.
• Appropriate for Ed Technician Certification Level (022).
• Experience working with students with Developmental Delays.

Responsibilities

• Review and reinforce learning previously introduced and assist in drill and practice activities.
• Participate in required workshops.
• Perform non-instructional functions, including suspension of students.
• Assist in the preparation of instructional materials or provide classroom management during drills, assemblies, play periods, etc.
• Alerts the teacher to any problem or special information about an individual student.
