Job summary

Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla Emergency Services is seeking an Emergency Department Technician (ED Tech) to support the department by performing basic emergency medical procedures as directed.

Under supervision, you will assist nurses and physicians, take vital signs, apply simple dressings and splints, collect stool and urine samples, and may transport patients or cover the unit secretary role.

As an Emergency Department Technician (ED Tech), you will support emergency department or urgent care by performing basic emergency medical procedures as directed.

• Under supervision, assists nurses and physicians in the performance of their functions.
• You will perform assessment of vital signs, thermal applications, non-sterile soaks, application of simple dressings and splints, stool and urine collection.
• You may transport patients and/or provide coverage for the unit secretary.
