Job summary

Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla is seeking an Emergency Department Technician (ED Tech) to support the emergency department or urgent care by performing basic clinical procedures as directed.

Under supervision, you will assist nurses and physicians, monitor vital signs, apply basic dressings and splints, collect specimens, and help transport patients or cover the unit secretary role as needed. This is a full-time 12-hour varied shift.

As an Emergency Department Technician (ED Tech), you will support emergency department or urgent care by performing basic emergency medical procedures as directed.

• Under supervision, assists nurses and physicians in the performance of their functions.
• You will perform assessment of vital signs, thermal applications, non-sterile soaks, application of simple dressings and splints, stool and urine collection.
• You may transport patients and/or provide coverage for the unit secretary.
