Job summary

Bon Secours Mercy Health is seeking an ED Tech at Southside Regional Medical Center in Petersburg, VA. The role provides direct patient care under the guidance of a registered nurse in accordance with regulations and hospital policies.

Responsibilities include basic patient care, vital signs, lab draws, ECGs, wound care, documentation, and teamwork with care staff to promote safe, compassionate patient experiences. Must have a high school diploma; BLS preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• BLS Basic Life Support preferred or must obtain prior to direct patient care.
• Previous patient care tech or nursing support experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides basic patient care and tasks including comfort, vital signs, hygiene, mobility, and basic wound care under RN supervision.
• Completes patient rounding and 1:1 safety companion services as needed.
• Acts as liaison between patient and nurse and reports changes or concerns.
• Delivers high level customer service to patients, families, and staff; documents care accurately.
