Baptist Health Corbin Emergency Department (ED) is a Level IV Trauma Designated unit with 28 beds that provides comprehensive, around-the-clock care to patients of all ages. The department treats a wide range of conditions, from non-emergent complaints to life-threatening illnesses and injuries.

A dedicated split-flow area supports efficient evaluation and treatment of fast-track patients with lower acuity needs.

Qualifications

• Current RN licensure in Kentucky.
• Bachelor’s or an associate degree in nursing from an accredited college/university.
• Basic life support within 30 days of hire.
• ACLS/PALS/NRP and dysrhythmia training as required.

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, evidence-based nursing care through assessment, treatment, and care planning.
• Coordinate admissions, transfers, and discharges while supporting patient education.
• Deliver nursing rounds and direct patient care on the ED unit.

Baptist Health Corbin Emergency Department (ED) is a Level IV Trauma Designated unit with 28 beds that provides comprehensive, around-the-clock care to patients of all ages. The department treats a wide range of conditions, from non-emergent complaints to life-threatening illnesses and injuries. A dedicated split-flow area supports efficient evaluation and treatment of fast-track patients with lower acuity needs. Additionally, the ED includes a behavioral health intake area designed to safely assess and manage patients presenting mental health and behavioral health concerns.

The Registered Nurse provides compassionate, evidence-based nursing care through assessment, treatment, care coordination, patient and family education, and individualized care planning while supporting admissions, transfers, and discharges.

**Job Description:**

• The Registered Nurse (RN) implements professional nursing practice centered on the patient as a whole person, and the creation of a caring environment focused on healing and wellness.

• The Registered Nurse (RN) is an exemplar for compassion, acceptance, respect, and empathy honoring nursing as a distinct discipline and supporting an environment focused on healing and wellness.

• As a clinical nurse, this individual spends majority of his/her time (> 50%) coordinating, ensuring and providing direct patient care activities on the unit through: provision of nursing rounds, assessments and treatments; facilitating admission, transfer and discharge activities; provision of patient and family-centered education; care coordination and individualized treatment planning as applicable, etc.

**Minimum Education, Experience, Training and Licensures Required:**

• Current RN licensure or work permit in Kentucky.

• Bachelor’s or an associate degree in nursing from an accredited college/university.

• Basic life support- Applicants will have 30 days from their hired date to provide completion of this certification if they don’t have it already.

• ACLS/PALS/NRP and successful completion of dysrhythmia class as required by department of Assignment.
