MercyOne in Iowa is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to join the Emergency Room team. You will deliver professional nursing care to patients across age groups, from neonates to geriatrics, using the nursing process and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.

The role requires graduation from an accredited nursing program and an active Iowa RN license. Night shift, full-time, 36 hours per week, with a 7 PM – 7 AM schedule. BCLS required; ACLS/PALS recommended.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license from the State of Iowa.
• Knowledge of the nursing process and its application.
• Ability to read, write, and follow written and oral instructions in English.
• Skilled in post-operative care for neonates, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics.
• Ongoing continuing education in nursing, appropriate to clinical assignments.
• BCLS certification at the healthcare provider level required.
• ACLS and PALS certifications recommended.

Responsibilities

• Utilize the nursing process for patient assessment, planning, interventions, and evaluation.
• Provide personalized care by coordinating with providers and families.
• Execute care plans per nursing guidelines with age-appropriate, culturally sensitive care.
• Educate patients on medications, procedures, and care plans.
• Maintain confidentiality and respect patient autonomy and rights.
• Provide RN supervision and leadership in the care team.
• Keep current competencies through workshops and quality improvement projects.
• Adhere to high safety standards in all tasks.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

We are seeking a dedicated a Registered Nurse to join our Emergency Room Team! As a Registered Nurse at MercyOne , you will provide professional nursing care to patients, incorporating the nursing process, utilizing technical equipment, and collaborating with other healthcare team members. You will care for neonates, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.

Essential Job Functions:

• Utilize the nursing process, including patient assessment, nursing diagnosis, care planning, interventions, and evaluation of patient status.
• Manage personalized care by promoting and restoring health, collaborating with providers and the multidisciplinary team, and offering physical and psychological support to patients and their families.
• Execute care plans as prescribed by providers, adhering to nursing practice guidelines and ensuring age-appropriate, culturally sensitive care.
• Educate patients on medication, procedures, and their care plans during hospitalization and post-discharge.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and provide care in a non-judgmental, non-discriminatory manner, respecting patient autonomy, dignity, and rights.
• Perform and/or supervise activities requiring registered nurse expertise , seeking assistance when necessary.
• Provide leadership and direction in supervising others in delivering nursing care.
• Maintain current competencies by attending educational workshops and participating in departmental projects for process improvement.
• Adhere to the highest safety standards in all tasks.
• Other duties as assigned by management.

Education and Licensure:

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
