Job summary

MercyOne Health System is seeking a Registered Nurse to join the Emergency Room team for a 12-hour night shift. You will deliver professional nursing care across the age spectrum, utilizing the nursing process and collaborating with the healthcare team.

You will educate patients, manage care plans, and uphold safety and ethical standards while maintaining confidentiality and providing compassionate care to diverse patients.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of the nursing process and its application.
• Ability to read, write, and follow written and oral instructions in English.
• Skilled in post-operative care for neonates, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics.
• Ongoing continuing education in nursing, appropriate to clinical assignments.
• BCLS certification at the healthcare provider level required.

Responsibilities

• Utilize the nursing process, including patient assessment, nursing diagnosis, care planning, interventions, and evaluation of patient status.
• Manage personalized care by promoting and restoring health, collaborating with providers and the multidisciplinary team, and offering physical and psychological support to patients and their families.
• Execute care plans as prescribed by providers, adhering to nursing practice guidelines and ensuring age-appropriate, culturally sensitive care.
• Educate patients on medication, procedures, and their care plans during hospitalization and post-discharge.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and provide care in a non-judgmental, non-discriminatory manner, respecting patient autonomy, dignity, and rights.
• Perform and/or supervise activities requiring registered nurse expertise, seeking assistance when necessary.

Education and Licensure:

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license from the State of Iowa.

Qualifications:
