What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):

  1. Perform daily revenue integrity audits and charge reconciliation for Emergency Department (ED) charges
  2. Monitor patient board and review census and discharges to ensure accurate charge capture
  3. Process ED facility level charges, procedures, injections, infusion, and pre-bill edits
  4. Collaborate with internal customers, including hospital staff and ED care providers, to resolve documentation issues
  5. Research and resolve billing and coding issues to ensure timely filing of clean claims

What is Required (Qualifications):

  1. Minimum high school education or GED required
  2. Minimum 1 year of ED leveling experience with a certified coding credential required
  3. Experience related to charging for infusion and injection medications and ED leveling preferred
  4. Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information required
  5. Upkeep of one of the following nationally accepted certified coding credentials (i.e., RHIT, RHIA, CPC, CPC-H, CCA, CCS, or CCS-P) for ED Revenue Integrity Specialist II

How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):

  1. Prior experience in ED facility coding
  2. Additional certifications in relevant coding areas
  3. Strong understanding of revenue cycle processes
  4. Experience in a fast-paced healthcare environment
