Job summary

Cape Fear Valley Health System is seeking an ED Registration Clerk at Bladen Hospital in Elizabethtown, NC. You will rapidly register patients in a high-traffic emergency department, verify demographics, and document insurance and guarantor details.

Responsibilities include collecting payments, updating records, and ensuring patient safety with accurate armbands. Prior experience in hospital registration is preferred, and strong communication is essential.

Qualifications

• Requires English language proficiency and strong customer service skills.
• Basic to intermediate computer skills and data entry ability.
• Experience with hospital or medical office registration is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Registers emergency service patients quickly, creating accounts within 90 seconds of arrival.
• Queries EAD and enters accurate patient demographics to obtain the correct medical record and account numbers.
• Places patient identification armbands on ED patients after accounts are created to ensure safety.
• Obtains demographic, guarantor, and insurance information and documents it into the registration system.
• When patients are in observation or admission status, obtains physician orders to support services.
