Job summary

Baystate Health is seeking an ED Registration Representative for the Baystate Franklin Medical Center to interview patients, collect demographics and insurance information, and collect patient responsibility payments at registration in a fast-paced Emergency Department.

The role requires compassionate communication with patients and coordination with insurance, clinical staff, and other hospital personnel to ensure patient safety and optimal reimbursement.

Qualifications

• Customer service experience required.
• Certified Medical Terminology obtained upon hire.
• Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively under stress.
• Experience with patient data entry and insurance information.

Responsibilities

• Interview patients and collect demographic and insurance information.
• Collect patient responsibility payments at registration.
• Coordinate with insurance, clinical staff, and other hospital personnel.
• Obtain signatures on required forms and maintain professional interactions.
• Process FirstNet accounts and morning/afternoon preadmissions.
