Job summary

Wellstar Health System is seeking an Emergency Department Paramedic to join the ED team in Georgia. The paramedic collaborates with physicians and RNs to deliver high-quality, safe patient care in a hospital setting.

Licensure and national registry certification for paramedics are required, with adherence to Georgia scope of practice. The role supports education for patients and families, manages incident response, and ensures rooms are ready and stocked while maintaining infection control

Qualifications

• Completion of accredited paramedic program with clinical hours.
• Active Georgia paramedic license and national registry.
• Minimum 2 years paramedic experience in field or hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Assist ED medical and nursing staff with patient care and treatment.
• Greet patients, interview, and input clinical information.
• Perform or assist with diagnostic testing (EKG, cardiac monitoring, venipuncture, ISTAT).
• Initiate IVs, administer selected meds, monitor glucose, and ISTAT testing per protocol.
• Transport patients to ICU and monitor critical patients as needed.
• Support patient flow, triage assistance, and ED education to patients and families.
