Job summary

Mayo Clinic seeks an Emergency Department Paramedic to join our ED team in Wisconsin. You will collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other professionals to deliver high-quality emergency care, support patient throughput, and ensure a positive patient experience from arrival through discharge.

Qualified candidates will hold NREMT registration, Wisconsin paramedic license, ACLS/PALS/BLS certifications, and 2+ years of emergency-care experience.

Qualifications

• Must be registered with the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians with an active status.
• Must hold a State of Wisconsin Paramedic License.
• Current ACLS, PALS, and BLS certifications and maintain them.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience caring for emergency patients in pre-hospital or hospital settings.
• Ability to operate effectively in a mass casualty event.
• Proficient use of standard office technology and medical applications.

Responsibilities

• Under general supervision, assist ED staff with delegated patient-care tasks within nursing practice.
• Initiate and provide care within legal scope of practice.
• Deliver care to pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients in emergencies.
• Perform procedures to the full scope of a paramedic, including intubation and medication administration.
• Collaborate with nurses, physicians, respiratory therapists, and technicians as part of the ED team.
• Support patient throughput by triage, EKGs, IV access, and diagnostic testing.
• Document care in the electronic medical record and participate in ongoing care plans.
