Job summary

Wellstar Health Systems in Georgia seeks an Emergency Department Paramedic to join an interdisciplinary team delivering high-quality, compassionate care. You will support treatment in the ED under physician and RN direction, perform advanced patient care tasks, and help manage patient flow and education.

Requirements include a Georgia paramedic license and national registry, completion of an accredited paramedic program with clinical hours, and prior field or hospital experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Georgia paramedic license and national registry certification required.
• Completion of an accredited paramedic program with clinical hours; 2+ years of paramedic experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist medical and nursing staff with care and treatment of Emergency patients.
• Greet and interview patients and input pertinent medical information.
• Perform EKG, monitor cardiac status, venipuncture, POCT, wound care, and apply orthopedic devices.
• Initiate IV access, administer medications as directed, monitor glucose, and ISTAT testing.
• Transport patients to ICU and monitor critically ill patients in the ED.
• Support patient flow, participate in trauma/code activations, and ensure rooms are patient-ready.
• Stock rooms and maintain infection control in patient areas.
• Collaborate with physicians, RNs and multidisciplinary team; adhere to Wellstar policies.
