Saint Mary of Nazareth Hospital in Chicago is seeking a Director of Emergency Department (RN) to provide clinical and operational leadership for Emergency Services with 24-hour accountability. The role requires active RN licensure, BSN, and advanced certifications, plus supervisory experience.

Responsibilities include overseeing ED operations, staffing, quality, and patient outcomes, and leading staff development. The position is day-shift, full-time, with competitive compensation and benefits.

Qualifications

• RN license with current valid state registration.
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certificates current upon hire.
• ACLS and PALS maintained throughout employment.
• BSN required for all new hires after 1/11/2021.
• Minimum two years supervisory/management experience.
• Minimum three years of clinical experience in acute care.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily clinical and operational functions of the Emergency Department.
• Supervise, develop, and evaluate ED nursing staff.
• Oversee staffing, productivity, patient flow, throughput and resources.
• Drive quality, patient safety, and performance improvement.
• Partner with physicians and leadership to improve ED operations and outcomes.
• Provide leadership during emergencies and hospital codes.
• Promote accountability, teamwork, engagement, and patient-centered care.
