Job summary

The Nursing Care Technician (NCT) in the Emergency Department at University of Kentucky provides patient care, comfort measures, and early notification to the registered nurse for any condition changes. The role supports patient satisfaction and clinical outcomes during the shift, with Level 1 pool pay of $19/hr for 48 hours per 6 weeks.

Preferred candidates have prior NCT experience or completion of Fundamentals of Nursing with clinicals, and must meet Kentucky licensing/registration

Qualifications

• Previous Nursing Care Technician experience preferred.
• Strong communication, dependability and customer service.
• Eligibility or completion of nursing fundamentals and clinicals may be required.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care and comfort measures in ED settings.
• Notify RN of changes in patient condition and assist as trained.
• Support patient satisfaction and clinical outcomes during shifts.
