Job summary

ChristianaCare in Delaware offers the Emergency Department Nurse Residency Program, a 26-week immersive training for senior nursing students, recent graduates, or new RNs aiming to start in emergency nursing. Participants rotate through classroom, simulation-based learning, and hands-on clinical experiences, with mentorship from ED nurses.

Upon completion, graduates transition to Staff Nurse roles in ChristianaCare EDs.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited nursing program before June 2027 (BSN preferred).
• Hold or obtain Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Have less than 12 months of RN experience by the start date.
• Delaware RN license or Compact State RN license before the start date.

Responsibilities

• Participate in classroom and simulation-based education.
• Hands-on clinical experiences with ED nurses.
• Preceptor-led experiences and mentorship.
• Engage in evidence-based practice training and quality/patient safety education.
• Develop communication and leadership skills within an interdisciplinary team.
