BJC HealthCare is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) Manager for the Emergency Department in Valley Park, Missouri. The role oversees patient care delivery, staff management, and collaboration with leadership in a Magnet-certified Level I Trauma ER.

The position focuses on staffing, performance management, and ensuring high-quality, efficient care in a fast-paced, urban ED setting within Barnes-Jewish Hospital network.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing or equivalent.
• Experience: 2-5 years in nursing with leadership exposure.
• Licenses & Certifications: RN licensed.
• Supervisor Experience: No prior supervisor experience required.

Responsibilities

• Hires, trains, assigns work, and evaluates performance.
• Ensure departmental productivity aligns with goals.
• Participate in budgeting and staffing plans.
• Provide and oversee patient care according to plan and age/developmental needs.
• Develop and implement collaborative care plans.
• Manage staffing, payroll updates, and timekeeping; coordinate staff communications and huddles.
• Conduct performance reviews and coaching; handle disciplinary actions as needed.
• Maintain safety-sensitive responsibilities per department policy.
