Job summary

Lehigh Valley Health Network (LVHN) seeks a Part-Time Night Patient Care Technician to support the Emergency Department. The PCT provides designated direct and indirect patient care under licensed staff, assists with safety, and ensures efficient unit operations in a fast-paced environment.

Qualified candidates have a High School Diploma or GED, knowledge of medical terminology, and BLS. The role requires physical stamina, teamwork, and effective communication with patients and families.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and patient care concepts.
• Ability to complete delegated tasks within scope of role.
• Understanding of risks in a healthcare environment and patient safety.
• Respectful communication with patients, families and colleagues.
• BLS certification (AHA) required on hire.

Responsibilities

• Communicates with and supports the interprofessional team, patient, family and designated care partners.
• Performs direct and indirect patient care activities under licensed supervision.
• Maintains a safe patient care environment and assists with supplies and equipment.
• Conducts patient rounds, anticipates needs and responds to call lights promptly.
• May assist with telehealth and use of clinical technology as needed.
