Job summary

Baptist Health in Lexington, KY is seeking a Monitor Technician for the night shift in the Emergency Department. You will provide continuous cardiac rhythm monitoring, interpret arrhythmias, and communicate findings to nurses and providers.

Duties include observing oxygen saturation and blood pressure, maintaining monitoring equipment, and documenting vital signs. Applicants should have a high school diploma or equivalent, with less than one year of experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Less than one year's experience required.
• RN License, LPN, or monitor tech experience may substitute for degree.
• Dysrhythmia courses completed during orientation and recertified annually.
• BLS certification required or must be obtained within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide continuous observation and interpretation of cardiac rhythms with documentation and communication of pertinent arrhythmias and changes.
• Monitor cardiac rhythm, oxygen saturation, and blood pressure; observe, document, and communicate vital signs to the nurse in charge.
• Maintain equipment and supplies for cardiac monitoring.
• Identify arrhythmias or significant rhythm changes and report to supervisor or health care team members.
• Assist providers with cardiac monitoring, related procedures, and therapeutic measures.

Description:Monitor Technician provides continuous observation and interpretation of cardiac rhythms with documentation and communication of pertinent arrhythmias and changes in rate, rhythm, NBP, and/or oxygen saturation to nurse responsible.Observes cardiac monitor, oxygen saturation and Blood pressure. Maintains equipment and supplies.Documents and communicate information regarding patient rhythms and Oxygen saturations, and blood pressure.Responsible for identification of patient arrhythmias, abnormalities, or significant changes from baseline and reporting on the condition of patient/client to the appropriate supervisor or other health care team members.Responsible for assisting providers with cardiac monitoring, therapeutic measures, and procedures related to cardiac monitoring.Requirements:High school diploma or equivalent.Less than one year's experience.RN License, LPN, prior monitor tech experience (substitute for degree)Dysrhythmia courses are completed during orientation and recertified annually.Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
