Job summary

Sharp HealthCare is seeking a Coder II for the Emergency Department and related clinics in San Diego. You will code diagnoses and procedures using HCPCS/CPT and ICD-10-CM, ensuring accuracy for ED, Infusions, Wound Care, and outpatient encounters.

At least 6 months of ED coding with ICD-10-CM and CPT is required, with consideration for 1 year of outpatient or inpatient coding. RHIT/CCS/CCA/CPC certifications are preferred.

Qualifications

• 6 months Emergency Department coding experience utilizing ICD-10-CM codes and CPT required.
• May substitute 1 year outpatient or inpatient coding experience utilizing ICD-10-CM and CPT codes in lieu of ED experience.
• Internal transfers: 1 year Coder 1 experience at Tri-City Medical Center accepted in lieu of ED experience

Responsibilities

• Code diagnoses and visit procedures for ED, Infusions, Wound Care Clinic, and Outpatient encounters.
• Maintain coding accuracy using HCPCS/CPT and ICD-10-CM guidelines.
• Pursue ongoing education to maintain professional certification.
