Job summary

Honda seeks a Software & System Test Engineer in the EA2 group to deliver defined engineering tasks under guidance while expanding technical breadth. You will work with Technical Leadership to prioritize work, create decision matrices, and ensure timely delivery across vehicle ECU systems.

You will help design and verify electrical/electronic architectures for vehicle systems, manage changes to avoid cascading issues, and collaborate with suppliers to meet project requirements.

Qualifications

• BSEE or BSME degree or equivalent experience.
• 0 to 2 years of closely related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Effective communication skills (written, verbal and presentation).
• Ability to cultivate and manage relationships with varying levels in/out of the organization, including suppliers.
• Ability to acclimate to new environments, negotiate through unknowns and meet new people.
• Ability to manage time effectively and productively.
• Solid quantitative/analytical problem‑solving and decision‑making skills.
• Acute attention to detail.
• Strong collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Project and team management: break down concept details into development activities and plan ECU development with leadership guidance.
• Engineering specification design for Body/Powertrain ECU applications, including electrical hardware and software in tools like MATLAB/Simulink. Conduct design reviews with leadership.
• Engineering troubleshooting, root cause analysis and solution design on prototype or mass production vehicles.
• Testing and verification of ECU specifications related to hardware and software, including EMC considerations.
• Documentation: manage multiple developments, report concerns, and propose resolutions after root cause analysis.
• Work with suppliers to coordinate requirements and schedules.
