Job summary

Ascension Saint Thomas Behavioral Health Hospital in Nashville is hiring an ECT Registered Nurse (RN) for a full-time daytime shift, 7am–7pm. The role emphasizes safe, evidence-based psychiatric nursing, direct patient care, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.

The RN will assess physical and behavioral health needs, create care plans, document records, administer medications, and educate patients and families while adhering to hospital policies and state regulations.

Qualifications

• Must have graduated from an accredited school of nursing.
• Current RN license as required by state of employment or eligibility.
• One year of nursing experience; psych/behavioral or substance abuse experience a plus.
• CPR, de-escalation and restraint certification required.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients’ physical and behavioral health needs and coordinate care.
• Develop and implement nursing care plans for individuals and units.
• Maintain medical records and educate patients and families.
• Administer medications and document counts for controlled substances.
• Ensure nursing plans align with state act regulations and facility policies.
• Communicate with physicians and care teams about patient status and changes.
